Originally designed in Neo-classical style but finished in Neo-renaissance style, the Basilica located in St. Stephen’s Square is Budapest’s largest roman catholic church. It has a seating capacity of 8.500 people. Both the church and the square are named after St. Stephen, Hungary’s first king, who converted Hungary to the Christian religion.
