Built between 1933-1937, Petőfi Bridge is the seventh bridge of Budapest, connecting Boráros Square on the Pest side with the university campuses on the Buda side. The original bridge was destroyed by the German troops in 1945, and was reopened in 1952. The bridge is 378 meters long and is named after Hungary’s famous poet and revolutionist, Sándor Petőfi.
