Completed in 1896, Liberty Bridge is the third road bridge of Budapest. With its approximately 334-meter length, it’s the shortest bridge of the Hungarian capital, connecting Fővám Square on the Pest side with St. Gellért Square on the Buda side. It was originally named after the Austro-Hungarian Emperor Franz Joseph and renamed as Liberty Bridge when it was rebuilt after WWII in 1946.
