Gellért Hill, by the end of Liberty Bridge, is the most prominent hill that can be seen from the Danube promenade. It covers part of both the first and eleventh districts. The hill was named after Saint Gerard, who, according to the legend, was thrown to death from the same hill. The eponymous Gellért hotel and thermal baths are built at the foot of the hill, and on top of it the sights of the citadella and the statue of liberty can be taken in.
