Located in the old Jewish Quarter where many people of the Jewish faith still reside today, the Moorish style, 19th century Dohány Street Synagogue (or Great Synagogue) is the largest functioning Jewish temple in Europe and the second largest in the world. It has a seating capacity of nearly 3000 people. The Synagogue houses cultural programs and gives home to the Hungarian Jewish Museum as well.
